Summary of Foundation‘s Activities in 2021


1. May 2nd, 2021 (Saturday), 2021 MUSS Board Meeting
① A commendation ceremony was held for three directors who have made significant contributions to the foundation this year.
② Opinions were exchanged on further promotion of foundation activities and future development.
③ A discussion was held on the readjustment of foundation activities during the COVID-19 pandemic and the funding of the MUSS scholarship.


2. From May to July 2021 [Career support seminar for Mongolian international students] has been hold 3 times both face to face and online.

① 2021/5/15 (Sat) 13:30 ~ 17:00, about going on to higher education, regarding vocational school/university/graduate school I
② 2021/6/12 (Saturday) 13:30 ~ 17:00, Concerning admission to graduate school II and course after completion
③ 2021/7/3 (Sat) 13:30 ~ 17:00, about Job hunting in Japan
In this seminar, students were able to hear directly from current faculty members and Mongolian seniors, for Mongolian international students who are worried about their career paths. And we believe that they would able to obtain useful information for their career choices.

3. [2021 MUSS Children's Drawing Event] has been hold in August 2021
The first year MUSS children's event [Let's draw a Minii Mongol picture] was held with the support of the MIT Group and the 365°C Art Group, including the Mongolian Language Children's Circle in Japan. A "MUSS Lucky Family" lottery was held for among the 89 submitted works, and a USJ ticket was presented to one of those family. Each piece was very touching and wonderful with the thoughts of children.

4. 2021 “MUSS Scholarship” and “MUSS Special Incentive”
Implement of the Recruitment, Application and Selection The MUSS Scholarship and the MUSS Special Incentive are operated using donations from private companies operated by Mongolians living in Japan, and NPOs, and membership fees of the Foundation members. By providing scholarships mainly to Chinese Mongolian privately-financed international students who are excellent in both academics and character, we aim to contribute to alleviating their financial concerns and improving learning outcomes. This year as well, out of approximately 100 international students who applied, 10 "MUSS Scholarships" and 11 "MUSS Special Incentives" were carefully selected and awarded. Four scholarship students gave presentations on their learning and research results in their mother tongue.

5. December 19, 2021 (Sunday), 32nd the Foundation for Mongolian Culture’s Academic Exchange Meeting

At Tokyo Metropolitan University, there was a special lecture on Mongolian history and language, and Mongolian youth who are active in various fields, talked about the research results. On the day of the event, about 100 people gathered from Japan and overseas, including those who came in person and those who participated online via ZOOM.
① Mr. Hiroshi Futaki and Mr. Yukiyasu Arai gave special lectures on "Maps (Gaiho-zu) created by the Japanese military in the Mongolian region in the first half of the 20th century" and "Language maintenance in Mongolian tribes".
② Professor Гиляна Федотова, Doctor of Economics, Russian Federation G.V. Plekhanov Memorial Russian University of Economics (РЭА), who participated online, and extend greetings to us.
③ Mongolian youth who were active in various fields presented research results in Mongolian.
